How can I explore the Medway Gap?

Within easy reach by train from London and numerous towns and villages across the South East, the Medway Gap is just waiting to be explored. It's many footpaths and Public Rights of Way enable you to get both alongside the River Medway at the valley bottom and enjoy fantastic views across the area and beyond from the top of the chalk slopes. The iconic North Downs Way national trail, spanning 153 miles of stunning countryside from Farnham in Surrey to Dover, follows the valley top through most of the Medway Gap.

Why not start exploring the Medway Gap and the wider Medway Valley area by following one of the 13 Rail Trails and nine community trails? Each with its own attractive leaflet with interesting snippets of information, enticing photos and illustrations along with easy-to-follow directions, exploring the Medway Gap couldn’t be easier.
