There
are various publications specifically about the Kent Downs and others
that are relevant to the Kent Downs, all providing a valuable source
of information about this important area.
The Orchid Newspaper is a
popular publication giving a fascinating insight to the landscapes
and communities of the Kent Downs – it also has a listing
of events in the AONB and details of countryside sites and other
places of interest.
The Kent Downs AONB Unit has produced a Management
Plan for the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on behalf of
all local authorities who have land within the area (published April
2004). The Management Plan sets a 20 year vision and five years
action plan for the AONB. The management plan
is available on this website. A ‘hard copy’ of the Management
Plan an AONB information leaflet, Annual Reports and bulletins are
available from the AONB Unit.
