King's Wood is an ancient woodland which was once the hunting ground of King Henry V111. Visitors can walk right through the wood, enjoying views across wooded valleys and the feeling of being in a very big forest. Way marked trails start at the car park. As well as enjoying the landscape and wildlife of the woodland along this route, visitors can see sculptures created by a variety of artists. These draw on the natural landscape and materials and create art which works with the countryside rather than imposing on it. The car park is well positioned for picnic areas and the children's play area. Designed for younger children, a number of unusual play structures have been created to represent creatures of the forest.
