Why not give the car a break – and take the train!

The Kent Downs AONB is well served by the Southeastern railway, with around 40 stations in and bordering the Downs. There are plenty of circular walking routes from stations such as Chilham, Wye, Charing, Lenham and Hollingbourne. For further information on walks click here.

For information on train times and engineering works, call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50. Available 24 hours, all calls are charged at local rate and may be recorded. Alternatively, use the link opposite to use the Journey Planner.

With the Kent Rover Train ticket you can enjoy three consecutive days of unlimited train travel in Kent for a single low price.

As part of the Sustainable Rural Tourism project in the Mid Kent Downs, we have been working with SE Trains to promote the use of sustainable transport in accessing the Downs. You may have seen these posters at stations throughout the County and at main London stations serving Kent.
