Make an ash spoon: Ash greenwood course

Event Date: 15 October 2017

Event Category: Workshop

Come along and play with some green ash wood.  This course is taught by John Waller and is aimed at the novice outdoors-man or woman.  Ash spoons and bowls have been used by britons since the bronze age, it was the material of choice prior to our everyday ceramic and steel. You will take home a finished spoon made of ash wood, which will mean that you will have your very own ash keepsake that will survive the disaster of Ash Dieback.  The course will cover axe and knife safety, tool selection and comprehensive instruction in spoon whittling!

You will book through John Wallers booking form below so please indicate at the time of booking whether you are right- or left- handed. All other tools and materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring along any special or interesting tools you have!

What to wear: Wear sturdy shoes or boots at all times. Please also wear warm, comfortable clothes that are suitable for the forecasted weather conditions.  You may be outside for some of the course.

There is a maximum of 6 participants for this course so book early to avoid disappointment.

The course is £45 per person payable directly to John Waller. Please bring a packed lunch, hot drinks will be provided.
