Head For The Hills and Discover this January

As part of our anniversary year we have teamed up with the Royal Geographical Society’s Discovering Britain project to bring you the best views the AONB has to offer.

Discovering Britain is a major public engagement project from the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) designed to encourage deeper engagement with Britain’s extraordinary and diverse landscapes.

Their website features over 350 long walks, short trails and viewpoints which unlock and explore the stories of Britain through its geography, history and culture.

We will be releasing the views on the first Friday of every month and they will be available here:

In January we introduce the Wye Downs, one of the most iconic and famous view points on the Downs, this dramatic viewpoint sits at the heart of the Kent Downs AONB and is often described as Kent’s top beauty spot. Stunning views are a key feature of the AONB and from here you can see out over the flat Kentish Weald to Romney Marsh and as far as the English Channel.

Why not share pictures of the view point or of you at view point on our Facebook Page Kent Downs AONB  #Head4TheHills

And if you would like to discover more of the area around the Wye Downs there is also the option to follow this self-guided walk route which can be found here

We hope you enjoy discovering this view point and don’t forget to look out for the next one which we will be publishing in February!
